Install a server pack
Set up an RPCrate FiveM server pack on a separate server and database, configure your own credentials, and test it before launch.
A server pack is a starting configuration with multiple resources, not a single script to add to a running server. Use the package's included instructions for its exact framework, database schema and dependencies.
Before you install
Read the product description and included readme. Identify the supported GTA V edition, framework release, FXServer requirements, database files and any separately licensed resources. Check compatibility before replacing files or buying dependencies.
Download the files from your account and extract the archive. Keep the original download as a reference. If the documented files or installation instructions are missing, contact support with the product and filename.
Use a separate server and database
Create an isolated test installation with its own server data directory and database. Never import a pack's full SQL dump into your existing player database or overwrite its server.cfg.
Back up an existing server before any later migration. Moving players, inventories, jobs, housing and vehicles into a different schema requires a migration plan; copying tables by name is not enough.
Configure the pack
- Set up FXServer and txAdmin using the official Cfx.re instructions. If the pack supplies a recipe, use its documented deployment process; otherwise follow its existing-server-data instructions.
- Place the pack's server data and resources in the directory your FXServer or txAdmin profile actually uses. Preserve its resource names and start order.
- Review the SQL and import the fresh-install file into the new, empty database. Confirm the import finished without errors. See Database precautions.
- Set your own database connection string, server registration key, server identity and documented integration settings. Do not reuse credentials, webhook URLs or API keys from an example config. Keep these values private.
- Configure any separately required resources and check their access with the creator. An archive alone does not establish a Cfx.re Asset Escrow entitlement.
If the pack requires versions different from those in a generic server recipe, ask for its supported combination rather than upgrading everything at once.
Test before launch
Start the server and review its console before connecting. Then verify:
- A player can connect, create a character, disconnect and reconnect with the same saved character.
- Items can be added, used and stored; money and job grades behave as configured.
- Included maps, vehicles and clothing load without missing assets or conflicts.
- Features such as phone, garages and housing save and reload their data, where included.
- A full restart preserves data and produces no related server or F8 errors.
Also test a connection from outside the host machine using the intended game port; do not expose the txAdmin interface publicly just to make the game reachable. Use Configure server.cfg and Startup errors for the next diagnostic steps.
Keep the tested files, database backup and version list before launch. Send support the first relevant error, pack version and what failed in this checklist, with all credentials redacted.
Update a resource
Replace an installed FiveM resource with a newer version from your RPCrate account without losing your config or data.
