The right FiveM mechanic script fits both your vehicle systems and the work you want mechanics to do. Start by deciding whether you need cosmetic tuning, a player-run business, or recurring maintenance. A large feature list is less useful if upgrades disappear after parking or customers cannot get repairs when mechanics are offline.
JG Mechanic and T1GER Mechanic provide two documented starting points. The comparisons below describe creator documentation; the fit recommendations are editorial judgments, not results from testing either resource on a live server.
| Server need | What to compare | Question to resolve |
|---|---|---|
| Public tuning shops | Modification menus, previews, pricing and saved vehicle properties | Can players use the shop without an employee, and do changes survive the garage cycle? |
| Player-run businesses | Jobs, grades, parts, work orders and business accounts | Which resource manages staff and receives the payment? |
| Recurring maintenance | Wear intervals, diagnostics, replacement parts and recovery options | How much driving should a service interval represent in your city? |
| Racing or custom handling | Handling changes and integration with existing tuning | Can you assign each handling value to one system? |
JG's job setup documentation describes a choice between its own employee and business-balance system and framework jobs from Qbox, QBCore or ESX. With framework jobs enabled, the framework-compatible boss menu manages employees and the selected banking integration manages the society account. The mechanic resource does not create those external accounts for you.
This is worth investigating if your key decision is how mechanic businesses fit an existing employment and banking setup. Write down whether a player may work at several garages and whether access follows their active job. Those decisions affect how you configure the business.
The servicing guide describes mileage-based part wear, tablet inspections and replacement items. It also warns that another resource changing the same handling values can override its changes. The installation guide covers inventory setup and companion resources; match that guide to the release you are considering.
The current T1GER Mechanic documentation describes in-game shop management and separates service parts from core parts. Service parts follow mileage intervals; neglected servicing can damage associated core parts, while collisions can also damage core parts. That model is worth comparing if diagnosis and parts replacement should be a regular roleplay activity.
Its installation page lists ESX, QBCore or Qbox, plus oxmysql, ox_lib, a supported target system and a supported inventory. It also identifies separate mechanic, lift and prop resources and includes database and item setup.
Check the exact resource identity. T1GER has separate documentation paths for t1ger_mechanic and t1ger_mechanicsystem. Do not apply one installation guide to a different package because their storefront names sound similar.
List the resources currently responsible for vehicle properties, garages, keys, fuel, mileage, damage, handling and invoices. For each function, decide which system will remain responsible after the change. Two resources can coexist when their responsibilities and interfaces are deliberately configured; overlapping defaults need investigation.
Ask the seller for the exact release, its matching documentation, required companion assets and supported integration versions. Also ask which bridge files and UI files you can edit, how updates preserve your changes, and whether migration tools cover your existing vehicle data. Current creator documentation does not establish the contents or update access of a different seller's package.
Include GTA V Legacy or Enhanced in that request, covering the mechanic release, companion assets and vehicles you intend to use. Check the Cfx.re migration requirements before treating framework support as evidence that the complete vehicle setup is ready for Enhanced.
Include configuration time in the budget. Parts prices, service intervals, wages and repair access need to work together. If an ordinary evening of driving creates several repair visits, decide whether that is desirable before exposing players to it. Keep an intentional recovery route for a broken vehicle when no mechanic is available.
Choose after those checks demonstrate the workflow you need. If your existing job already handles repairs and payments well, first evaluate whether a focused tuning addition solves the remaining problem with fewer integrations to change.
