For texture loss in FiveM, first determine whether it affects one client, one location or many players. Missing textures, missing collision and low FPS can appear together, but they do not necessarily have the same cause.
Record the pattern
Note the location, time, client settings, graphics modifications and whether the same problem appears on another server. Ask another player to check the same scene. Keep a screenshot and any F8 error.
If many players lose the same object or texture in one location, report the exact area to staff. If only your client is affected across servers, begin with local settings and modifications.
Player checks
- Save your current graphics settings. Return recent graphics modifications to a known-good or default setup using their uninstall instructions, then retest.
- Reduce texture and distance settings one at a time and compare the same route. If adjusting Extended Texture Budget, make a small change and observe memory pressure and stability; maximum is not a universal recommendation.
- Check that the game and client can read their files and that the drive has working space. Review GPU driver release information if the issue began after a driver change.
- Use targeted cache recovery only when evidence points to a damaged download or stale resource cache. Close FiveM first and follow the cache guide; do not delete the entire application data directory.
- Share the result and exact error with server staff if the issue remains limited to their resources.
Administrator checks
On staging, inspect the affected streamed assets, texture references, duplicate map ownership and recent changes. Test one conflicting or oversized resource at a time. Re-export the defective asset from its source rather than renaming unrelated files.
Compare rendering and memory behavior on representative clients. Resmon measures client script execution and is not a complete texture or GPU profiler. Avoid a universal per-resource millisecond limit as a texture-loss diagnosis.
Confirm recovery
Repeat the affected route, enter and leave the interior, reconnect and check from a client without the creator’s local files. Keep the last working asset package until the new version passes.
Use the official client troubleshooting guidance when the client fails more broadly. Change hardware only after evidence identifies a hardware limit.
