How To Create a FiveM Server Trailer

How to Make a FiveM Server Trailer: Filming Checklist

Build your FiveM trailer around what a new player can actually do on the server. Plan the story before recording, capture readable gameplay and finish with one clear way to join. A short accurate trailer is more useful than a long montage of unavailable features.

Write a simple shot list

Choose a brief outline: introduce the community, show two or three connected activities, then explain how to join. For each scene, note the location, participants, action and the information the viewer should understand.

Capture a wide view for context, a closer view of the interaction and a clear result. Use your current server build. Arrange the shoot so it does not disrupt other players or reveal private staff tools.

Check recording before the shoot

Record and replay a short test. Check image quality, frame pacing, voice levels and whether the intended camera tools work in your setup. Rockstar Editor availability depends on the server configuration; Cfx.re documents that sv_disableClientReplays disables it. Do not change a security setting just to record a trailer.

An ordinary gameplay capture is an alternative when replay tools are unavailable. Keep private messages, credentials and staff-only information out of the frame.

Edit for understanding

Start with gameplay that communicates the premise. Remove dead time, keep text readable and give each action enough time to make sense. Balance music under speech and add captions where dialogue matters. Use music, fonts and artwork whose licences permit your intended publication.

Keep colours consistent without making the trailer misleading about the normal player experience. A transition should help the viewer follow the action rather than hide it.

Finish with a usable join instruction

Show the exact server name, language and the next step: a working join route or a page explaining the whitelist. Keep that information legible on a small screen. Check the link from a fresh browser before publishing.

Review the exported file

Watch the exported version on desktop and a phone, once with sound and once muted. Check captions, spelling, missing frames and the last screen. Ask someone unfamiliar with the server what they expect after watching; correct anything the video promises but the server cannot deliver.
