Budget for hosting, required licenses, backups, maintenance and staff time separately. There is no single reliable monthly price for a FiveM server: use current quotes for the workload and support you actually need.
Build a complete budget
Use one currency and record whether tax is included. Split one-time setup costs from recurring charges. Check renewal rates, traffic/storage limits and cancellation terms, not only the first advertised month.
| Cost area | What to record |
|---|---|
| Game hosting | CPU allocation, RAM, storage, transfer, region and actual TCP/UDP mitigation. |
| Platform entitlements | Current Cfx.re Portal benefits required by your slot count and assets. |
| Resources | One-time licenses, subscriptions, account restrictions and update/support terms. |
| Operations | Off-site backups, monitoring, website, database and recovery work. |
| People | Setup, development, moderation, support and recurring maintenance hours. |
| Optional promotion | A bounded campaign budget and a way to measure suitable returning players. |
Calculate recurring and setup costs
Monthly cash cost = recurring services + monthly share of annual renewals + planned maintenance purchases. Keep a contingency separate so you can see which costs are committed.
Illustration only: if your own quotes are 40 units for hosting, 10 for backups and 15 for required subscriptions, the recurring total is 65 units. A 120-unit annual service adds 10 per month. These numbers are arithmetic examples, not provider prices or capacity claims.
Record setup purchases and migration work separately. Value staff time even when volunteers provide it; a low cash bill can still require substantial ongoing work.
Worked example: separate a pack, hosting and setup time
At the September 8, 2026 WooCommerce readback, QBCore V5 had a base-currency price of USD 233. Its listing requires setup and private testing; this product price does not establish that hosting or installation is included. Recheck the current price and selected currency before buying.
For illustration only, suppose you separately budget USD 30 for the first month of hosting and eight internal setup hours valued at USD 25 per hour. These are assumptions, not provider quotes or a measured installation time. Pack plus hosting would be USD 263 in cash, and internal time would add USD 200, for USD 463 including time.
Add any applicable subscription, backup, paid dependency or tax not already included in the actual quotes. Keep the pack purchase in the initial-cost column and the hosting quote in the recurring column; do not repeat the one-time pack cost every month.
For the capacity decision, Cfx.re’s hosting setup documentation, checked September 8, says more than 48 slots requires Element Club Argentum or above. Recheck the current Portal benefits before purchase. A host’s advertised slot count is not proof of account entitlement or acceptable performance at that population.
Use the pack and setup comparison to separate the roles of files, hosting and operator work.
Which server pack fits your project?
Compare an older QBus base, an ESX-Legacy package and ORIGEN V2, with setup requirements made clear.
Check the platform requirements
Use the Cfx.re Portal and current server documentation for entitlements and limits. Do not base a budget on an old Patreon tier, a fixed free-slot claim or an assumption that every custom asset requires the same subscription.
Reduce cost without making support harder
Start with the smallest documented setup that supports your player journey. Test official framework resources before purchasing optional replacements. Paid and free resources both require compatibility and maintenance checks.
Choose hosting after representative testing, keep restorable backups and avoid duplicate systems that nobody owns. Review the budget against actual usage and incidents before committing to a longer contract.
