The official alt:V homepage’s indexed notice states that the platform has shut down. Older locale pages still show wording about a structured shutdown. Our 10 September 2026 review therefore replaces this article’s previous claim that no official shutdown statement could be verified. Remaining website pages or repository files are not evidence that the multiplayer service still operates.

The reported 2026 timeline
GamesRadar’s report links the alt:V team’s Discord announcement and describes three deadlines: 2 March for accepting new community servers, 4 May for closing the public server list, and 6 July for end of support and the planned backend shutdown. These dates are the reported announcement schedule, not an independent audit of every server or infrastructure component.

What to preserve before rebuilding a community
Keep the source code and database exports you legitimately control, dependency versions, configuration, asset provenance and a record of the last working environment. Store credentials privately. Check whether each resource’s license and purchase entitlement permit the intended use; moving a file does not resolve its rights or dependencies. Players should follow their server operator’s own relocation notice rather than enter credentials into an unrelated replacement site.
FiveM migration requires adaptation
Cfx.re’s migration guide documents differences in entity ownership, routing buckets, state bags, permissions and voice. Existing alt:V event handlers and framework integrations are not converted merely by renaming folders or choosing the same programming language. Build an inventory of those integration points and port a small working flow before committing to the entire migration.

Test account matching, character data, inventories, money balances, vehicle ownership, jobs, voice and staff permissions using disposable data. Compare record counts and representative records after imports, and verify reconnect and restart behavior. Keep the original exports intact so failed test imports can be discarded.
The official notice was available through the search index; direct homepage requests timed out or returned a gateway error during this review, and the linked Discord post required its app. We attribute the detailed schedule to the cited report and do not claim an independent legal ruling, platform-wide shutdown audit, automatic migration tool or measured player-transfer percentage.
