Choose a long-term RP server by testing everyday play during your own available hours. A polished trailer or large population cannot tell you whether its pace, moderation and onboarding will suit you.
Write your non-negotiables
Choose the language, schedule, roleplay intensity and activities you want. Include accessibility needs such as readable text, voice alternatives or color-independent UI. Decide which paid requirements, application effort and content boundaries you are comfortable with.
Compare a few candidates
Use the official server list to find candidates, then read their own rules and joining instructions. Observe public discussions and recent updates. Ask a specific newcomer question and notice whether the answer is clear and respectful.
Compare communities using short notes rather than a made-up quality or compliance score:

Try a low-commitment character
- Complete the official entry process honestly and test voice before the main session.
- Give your character one modest goal that creates conversation. Avoid buying optional perks before understanding the community.
- Play several sessions if practical, including a normal quieter period. Try an ordinary activity and ask for help when needed.
- Review whether the server met your non-negotiables. Keep specific examples of what worked or confused you.
Handle red flags carefully
Do not provide passwords, authentication codes or unexplained remote access to join. A file scan or a visible server setting is not proof that a community is safe. Clear instructions and accountable support matter more than a checklist of technical buzzwords.
If a dispute occurs, use the stated reporting process with minimal necessary evidence. You should not need public staff logs containing other players’ private information to judge whether support is usable.
Stay or move on
Stay when the everyday experience fits your goals and boundaries. Leave respectfully when it does not. Time already spent on a character does not obligate you to remain in an unsuitable community.
