VarFiveM’s chess resource uses an in-world board for player-versus-player or AI games. Its original release requires the separate bzzz_chess asset pack for the table, board, chairs and pieces. Downloading the script alone is not the complete setup.

Check assets and distribution options
Follow the creator’s linked asset and installation instructions. The release lists ESX, QBCore and standalone support, but account and notification integration still depend on the selected framework. Confirm whether your chosen offer is the free escrow edition or an option with source access; free access does not imply editable source code.
Test a complete game and interrupted sessions
Seat two players and verify piece selection, turns, promotion, checkmate and draws. Check what spectators see after joining late. Before enabling wagers, test cancellation, disconnects, equal stakes, payouts and refunds with test balances. Confirm a player cannot move another player’s pieces or receive a duplicate payout after reconnecting.
These are acceptance checks for your server, not a claim that RPCrate has validated the closed implementation. Source checked on 10 September 2026.
